In 2005, we started by providing assistance to children living in foster homes and orphanages in Liberia. In addition to providing,
food, shelter, access to education and basic necessities to the needy in Liberia, MCF has also reunited families, and aided a young Liberian orphan battling cancer (he is now cancer free)
In 2005 we created an annual children’s Christmas luncheon at the Susie Guenter Orphanage in Monrovia for over five hundred orphans. Each child received a gift bag filled with toys and other necessities. For most of the children, this was their first time receiving a christmas gift.
Each Year, we hosted the MCF annual benefit, which created awareness and raises funds for all of its endeavors.
Post 2007, the MacDella Cooper Foundation started to focused its attention on building a strong academic institution, providing scholarships to deserving students, raising future leaders and providing access to basic human rights for women, youth and children( especially the girl child).
To date, MCF has transformed and impacted the lives of youth, women and children across Africa. The Foundation is expanding its efforts by building strategic partnerships to further its mission in the areas of national development, job creation and women’s participation in driving policies for protection of women and girls.
